World Happiness Report 2018 on map

From 2013 to today, a survey is being conducted which examines 156 countries with the aim of establishing a macro indicator capable of measuring the level of happiness of each nation and its inhabitants.

To determine a single summarizing and representative value of happiness, six variables are considered within the study that represent the different themes concerning the overall happiness of the individual countries.

Specifically, they were examined:

  1. the Gross Domestic Product per capita,
  2. the generosity of the inhabitants,
  3. serenity in being able to make life choices,
  4. life expectancy,
  5. the perception of corruption within the country,
  6. social support.

The storymap we created represents in the map the score of happiness for each country for the past year, 2018, and the individual indicators analyzed, plus an additional seventh.
